NBC Live:
Once again, welcome to the NBC Live Studio at Yahoo! Chat Arden and Sarah have just joined us! Welcome!

Arden Myrin:
Hi to everybody online!

Sarah Knowlton:
Thanks for chatting with us!

Sarah Knowlton:
We're having a virtual experience!

Paul_Lafond:
How does it feel to go from being an intern On Conan O'Brien to be a regular character on a sitcom?

Arden Myrin:
It feels terrific! The whole thing is very surreal, it really is,it's so cheesy, but it's a dream come true! I never thought that I would make it on to a show, or if I did, not nearly as quick as I did. It was very strange going back there. I went as a guest, and it was very cool and strange.

CubicleCatherine: Will there be any romantic storylines between either ofyou and Matt (Fred Savage)?

Sarah Knowlton:
Well, you should tune in tonight! I don't want to give it away, but your question will be answered in part tonight.

Arden Myrin:
I think Abby has a crush on Matt, but whether or not that's ever returned is up in the air.

Paul_Lafond:
How realistic do you think you portray life in a big corporation like Upton/Webber?

Sarah Knowlton:
I think it's hyper realistic. What the producers and writers are going for is satire, and that's the nature of that sort of comedy. A little over the top, but bringing the truth to life.

Arden Myrin:
My brother works at JP Morgan, and from what my brother tells me,it's so ridiculous, that what we're doing is sort of mirroring that. The fact that it's on TV is so funny, I don't think they're really reaching for story lines.

Sarah Knowlton:
Sad but true.

FormB4Function:
Has either of you worked in an office before?

Arden Myrin:
At Conan I did, that was at NBC, the big 30 Rock.

Sarah Knowlton:
I haven't, just restaurants for me.

Paul_Lafond:
Can you give us a preview of what we will see on upcoming episodes?

Sarah Knowlton:
Oh boy. It's different every week. Every week is a new story obviously. But what you can anticipate is seeing the characters'relationships develop more deeply as we spend time with them.

Sarah Knowlton:
We deal with the issue of lay-offs coming up, and getting your friends jobs. It's just more different treatments of all the power games.

Arden Myrin:
Definitely. The show that we're shooting we're talking about how certain relationships are developing that have fully emerged. I love the Delaney/Abby conflict, and how annoyed he is by me.

Sarah Knowlton:
We're starting to know what to expect from each other I would say.

Paul_Lafond:
How was the news greeted when you heard the show was renewed for the full season?

Arden Myrin:
We were thrilled, I went out and had cocktails!

Sarah Knowlton:
We were psyched!

Arden Myrin:
It was huge relief!

Sarah Knowlton:
We'd heard that the news was good, but you never know.

Arden Myrin:
It was also nice that we got picked up for the whole order, it was nice to know that they believe in you. I believe in it, but it was nice to get reassurance.

Paul_Lafond:
Do you wish sometimes you could break out of your perky character and become the meanest person at the office?

Arden Myrin:
Sometimes I think Abby does. Abby has some claws, and I like it when they rear their head. I think Abby's got a little more fight in her that is on the surface, and that's definitely fun. Nobody wants to be the biggest goody goody.

Sarah Knowlton:
Abby's got a past.

Ffiee13:
Sarah, will we be seeing you on Daytime in the near future? I use to watch you every day on "AW." It would be great to see you on an NbC daytime show!

Sarah Knowlton:
Oh thank you! Not in the near future, because I'm pretty commited here. So not in the forseeable future, but thank you for remembering me!

PEZTER1:
If you could develope your own episode story line, what would it be?

Arden Myrin:
That's a good question.

Sarah Knowlton:
I think I'd be interested in what Hal does out of the office, to find out what rounds her life out when she's not at work. I'm curious about that, and I'm told that we will eventually start getting into that realm with everyone.

Arden Myrin:
I think I'd like to see Abby at an office party run off with Delaney to Vegas or something and just be horrified the next day. I think that would be funny.

TimboyTX:
Sarah, do you feel your three years at Yale were a good use of time? You certainly did some great work up there. I graduated with you!

Sarah Knowlton:
Absolutely! Hi Tim! Oh my god! I think so, particularly in this one play about a dodo up there. I think it was time well spent!

DilbertKing:
Arden, your bio says that your were a Santa's Elf at Macy's one Christmas. With the holidays coming up, do you have flashbacks? And what would be one of your favorite holiday memories from your past?

Arden Myrin:
Yes I was an elf. I was just thinking that it's been two years since I was an elf, and I had fun, but I'm so glad that it's over. It's more fun being on a sitcom than being an elf.

Arden Myrin:
Working at Santa Land was kind of fun. I saw a woman flash Santa, that was kind of funny! We go to Vermont every year, I love going sledding and skiing. I'm from New England so I like the snow and toboggans.

Sarah Knowlton:
You're pretty boring Arden.

Arden Myrin:
Yeah, I know.

Scandlus:
What were your worst acting jobs before "Working"?

Sarah Knowlton:
Probably doing extra work. Doing extra work is pretty bad because if you're lucky you're not treated like meat.

Arden Myrin:
I've been pretty lucky. So far there hasn't been anything horrible...yet...but there's still plenty of time to ruin my career! :-)

Seyi19:
Was your show at all influenced by Dilbert?

Arden Myrin:
I don't think so. Certainly they were aware of the cartoon, but don't think they were huge readers of it.

Sarah Knowlton:
I think it was coincidental.

Arden Myrin:
There's this huge corporate world that is so pervasive.

Holly_qtpie:
Arden that is an interesting name how did you get it

Arden Myrin:
My mother's best friend in high school's name was Arden. And thank you, my mom's very arrogant about it. She keeps telling me I should be greatful that I've got it.

OurLadyPeace_Raine:
Do you have any plans for the future, other than the show?

Sarah Knowlton:
Not yet!

Arden Myrin:
I've got lots of plans. I'd like to go back to New York and do lots of independant movies. I think Parker Posey has an interesting career right now. I'd like to write my own...I used to write plays.

Sarah Knowlton:
I'm just trying to get through Christmas personally.

Peewee_1997:
What’s it like to work with Fred Savage?

Sarah Knowlton:
Torture :-) It's a delight, he's the best. He just knows how to do this stuff inherently.

Arden Myrin:
He's great. He's sitting right here! He's very generous and nice and...

Sarah Knowlton:
One of the most interesting people I've met

Arden Myrin:
Yes, very interesting.

Shadowy_Enigma:
What do you like best about acting?

Sarah Knowlton:
I like making people laugh. I feel that that's a good thing to do. People need it, and if I can be a channel for that that's a good thing. And it's fun.

Arden Myrin:
I like making people laugh too, and I like the day to day rehearsal and just hanging out with the other cast members. Maybe I'm like Abby, Iike the social aspect of it. It's fun!

Sarah Knowlton:
The power :-)

Zippygolf:
Are you happy with success of the show so far?

Arden Myrin:
Yeah.

Sarah Knowlton:
Absolutely.

Arden Myrin:
I think we have a good core group of people that watch it.

Sarah Knowlton:
That gives us the security to grow and build

Arden Myrin:
I like that people like it.

JROSE77:
What kind of things do the two of you do in your spare time???

Sarah Knowlton:
Go to the gym.

Arden Myrin:
I draw a lot. I'm going swing dancing tonight, although I'm not very good.

Sarah Knowlton:
Nothing that exciting. Reading.

Arden Myrin:
I go to the movies a lot. I love the movies.

Sarah Knowlton:
The good thing about a job like this is you get lots of little breaks. So I like taking that time to go see my family.

Arden Myrin:
You really make me laugh every week; I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your other work. What't this I hear about Woody Allen's new film?

Arden Myrin:
Thank you, that's really nice! Yeah, I'm in his new movie, but it's just a very small part...be forewarned...and it's at the very end, for a minute or two with the Wood-man. That's my pet name for him.

Sarah Knowlton:
Did you call him that?

Arden Myrin:
No, I didn't call him anything, I just stared.

DilbertKing:
Sarah, you score huge popularity points with us computer geeks because you like science-fiction. Do you have a favorite sci-fi movie, author or show?

Sarah Knowlton:
2001, the book and the movie. I have to admit I've kind of missed the whole science fiction TV thing, I go more for the books and the films. And I'm glad I have fans among the pod people, as we prefer to be called.

Photosearch:
Who are your mentors in the industry?

Arden Myrin:
I have a lot.

Arden Myrin:
Bette Davis, Ruth Gordon, Gilda Radner, there's so many. Molly Shannon, there's just tons. I literally keep a running tally.

Sarah Knowlton:
Judy Davis, Holly Hunter, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep. I've been lucky enough to have a lot of really good teachers that I consider mentors as well.

Arden Myrin:
Susan Sarandon I love.

Sarah Knowlton:
Yeah, Susan Sarandon rocks!

Arden Myrin:
Joyce Dewitt!

Prichbadger:
What are you career goals sarah say in the next five years?

Sarah Knowlton:
I'd like to get into film. I did my first one this past summer, called the Object of My Affection that should come out this spring. It was a small part, I just got my feet wet. I don't want to get too far from theatre, because that's my background and what I'm trained for. But I'd also like to test my wings in film.

NBC Live:
Arden, what are your goals for the next five years?

Arden Myrin:
These are hard questions. I really like the smaller, character driven movies that have been coming out of the independants. That's what really interests me. I'd love to do a play. My friend Kate and I are talking about writing and making our own little movie.

Paul_Lafond:
Do you have a favorite episode so far?

Sarah Knowlton:
Sexual Harrassment.

Arden Myrin:
Yeah, I liked that one! I liked our copy guy thing.

Sarah Knowlton:
Yeah, that was fun.

SkullCrusher9:
I think you're show is different from every other show outthere. How do the writers keep the show so fresh?

Sarah Knowlton:
They're smart, they're funny, and they have a vision of doing things a little differently that they're sticking to. They stick to their guns.

Arden Myrin:
Since we're not in the Thursday at 8:30 spot I don't think we'reunder a microscope like other shows are. So I think that gives them freedom to be more bold and risky. They're great.

GypsieRoseLee:
Sarah, you recently participated in workshops for Rent and the Titanic, what type of things did you do?

Sarah Knowlton:
In Rent I workshopped the character of Maureen who was a bisexual, leather wearing performance artist. In Titanic when we workshopped it I did a lot of different roles. I had great experiences with both of them, working with the performers and writers.

OurLadyPeace_Raine:
If you could have an advice column, what it be about? Acting, love, happiness, etc???

Sarah Knowlton:
An advice column!? It wouldn't be about love, that's for sure, that's not my department. I would choose acting, since I would like to think that that's my field of expertise.

Arden Myrin:
I would like to tell guys how to dress or something, I don't know.

Spencer_sweet:
Do you find your personal life wandering into your character?

Arden Myrin:
Well ok, here's a little anecdote. A bunch of us on the show went to Vegas and I remember just standing there trying to organize something about it. I was like oh my god! I'm organizing company trips We're all kind of type cast.

Sarah Knowlton:
I don't know that our personal life comes into it as they did an amazing job casting.

Arden Myrin:
Except for Maurice.

Sarah Knowlton:
Maurice is an enigma wrapped in mystery :-)

Sunbeam1000:
What is one of your most embarrassing moments?

Sarah Knowlton:
I did a douche commercial. I needed the money, I'd just moved to NY.I don't know what's more embarrassing, that I did it or that I'm talking about it right now.

Arden Myrin:
When I was 12 in front of a boy who I had a crush on who was on a ski team I skiied down a mountain into ski racks. And it hurt! It was awful, my mom ran over, "My baby!"

Paul_Lafond:
Does Hal have a last name? it's never mention on the show.

Arden Myrin:
She's got a first name!

Sarah Knowlton:
On my diplomas it says Hal Blumb.

Arden Myrin:
She was originally Janice.

Sarah Knowlton:
They mentioned it in the Jay Thomas episode briefly. I like that I'm just Hal.

Alarik:
What's on your X-Mas list?

Sarah Knowlton:
A computer, because I'm talking on the phone to a typist right now.

Arden Myrin:
I want to go to Italy to see my best friend.

Photosearch:
Do either of you spend much time on the internet and if so what are your favorite sites to visit?

Arden Myrin:
You know, my brother is a computer wiz, and I just get so lost on the web. I need to try it again over Christmas, my brother's going to take me through the web.

Sarah Knowlton:
Like I said I don't have a computer, but I know that my favorite site is NBC's site because I look up all the news on the show.

Arden Myrin:
Oh! There's a site called the Darwin awards, and they basically give awards to the people who do the stupidest things, that lived, but might not be helping the species that much. That was funny!

DilbertKing:
Arden, your bio also says you enjoy collection old photographs. What drew you photography and these types of photos specifically?

Arden Myrin:
I always sort of felt like I was born in the wrong era. I collect old family photo albums that aren't even necessarily my own. It gives you a sense of history, and there's a certain glamour to them. I'm mostly interested in just candids of people, I wonder who they are and where they lived.

JROSE77:
Do either of you watch any of the other comedies on TV?

Arden Myrin:
I do! Seinfeld, I love Seinfeld. I love the Simpsons. I love Beavis and Butthead.

Sarah Knowlton:
I like Seinfeld and Frasier and Cheers reruns and South Park. South Park rocks!

Arden Myrin:
The Larry Sanders show is really funny.

Brite_1:
I have a comment--I think you both are 2 of the sexiest ladies on tv!

Arden Myrin:
Really?!

Sarah Knowlton:
Bless your heart! It's all smoke and mirrors :-)

Arden Myrin:
I'm gonna live on that one for months! That is the nicest thing anybody ever said!

Ronny_27:
Any new year resolutions for 98?

Sarah Knowlton:
Ugh. I don't do resolutions. I just try to evolve gradually, I can't set expectations because then I'm afraid I'd just disappoint myself.

Ronny_27:
Is there something you regret having done or something you would do differently now...

Arden Myrin:
Fred Savage is making fun of my passport right now! I regret letting Fred in my room right now. I regret having that passport photo taken!

Sarah Knowlton:
I personally have no regrets, because then I wouldn't be here right now.

Ffiee13:
Hi ARDEN. What convinced you to take-up improvisation comedy?

Arden Myrin:
When I moved to Chicago I saw a show at Improv Olympic. I'd always been interested in comedy and they were doing the funniest things I'd seen in my life. It was long form, not the sketches, and it just fascinated me.

NBC Live:
Sarah, what's your favorite holiday memory?

Sarah Knowlton:
Probably 2 Christmases ago, my whole family was together, and that doesn't happen very often. So having us all together, and both my nieces and my nephew, because geography doesn't permit that very often.

Fencor:
does your social lives change when u become a star?

Sarah Knowlton:
Not yet! :-)

Arden Myrin:
In fact, I think it's gotten worse.

Sarah Knowlton:
I think it's changed more moving to LA.

Arden Myrin:
We both moved out from NY. We don't have as much free time, I was much more social before.

Sarah Knowlton:
We're not exactly going to pool parties every night.

Arden Myrin:
Speak for yourself!

Photosearch:
If you could have anyone as a guest actor on "Working" who would he or she be?

Sarah Knowlton:
I'd love to have Kelsey Grammer, I think he's hilarious. I would love to work with him or John Lithgow, because I think they are so skilled, and it would be a delight in this setting. Or Brad Pitt, that would be okay too.

Sandy_Segaran:
What do you plan to do on New Year's Eve?

Sarah:
I'm going to reunite with some college friends in San Francisco.

Arden Myrin:
I'm going to a party in New York!

Paul_Lafond:
How does it feel to know that there's like 15 million people watching you every week?

Arden Myrin:
Weird.

Sarah Knowlton:
Unreal.

Arden Myrin:
I've only been recognized twice, so you don't really feel the effect.

Sarah Knowlton:
I try not to think about it, because if I did, I probably couldn't remember my lines.

Arden Myrin:
It's weird to think that we must really annoy some people out there.

NBC Live:
Thank you for joining us this evening. Any last thoughts that you'd like to leave us with?

Arden Myrin:
Everyone was so nice!

Sarah Knowlton:
Thanks to everybody who logged on, sorry we couldn't answer all your questions!

Arden Myrin:
It was so cool to do this, I'm so happy that you're all watching!

Sarah Knowlton:
We'll chat again soon!

NBC Live:
